Products need unique selling propositions to be successfully introduced on the marked. One such USP could be based on micro- and nanostructures exhibiting new properties. In the strongly evolving field nanoimprint lithography (NIL) offers great potential being the fabrication method of choice for functional nanostructures, due to its comparable low investment costs as well as low cost of ownership for high precision and high throughput structuring at high flexibility.
The NILaustria project cluster is dedicated to nanoimprint lithography doing basic and applied research in a clearly application driven way. Currently applied projects are running in the fields of plastic electronics, magnetic storage media, biochips as well as for stamp fabrication.
Within these projects as well as at the basic research projects, i.e. in the field of meta materials, NIL specific, as well as application specific questions will be answered and extended to nanoimprint lithography advancing the materials, processes as well as the technology itself.
